What a sucky month. February is pretty barf all around.
So I failed my writing goals for February. They were as follows:
- Finish the 3rd draft of my WIP The Rose. Ha nope.
- Work on 6,000 of a new story or an incomplete story from 2018. Ha, double nope.
Read two books off my goodreads TBR pile. I actually read two and listened to the audio book for two others. I read Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and The Girl King by Mimi Yu and listened to Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings and Book One of the Han Solo Trilogy The Paradise Snare by AC Crispin
Does knocking off four books count as a success against the writing failures? Probably not.
In my defense (my excuses) I spent a very soul sucking month at my day job training new people and working lots of overtime and the last thing I wanted after staring at one screen was to go home and stare at another. On the bright side I did add several thousand words to my WIP, so it evens out or something. I put Google Docs on my phone last week so editing has gotten much easier, if somewhat slower.
So March Goals.....
- Finish The Rose WIP, for real this time. I decided to add a lot of content, which held me up in February. What should have been a reread with minor adjustments turned into a big thing. But I've made good headway since putting Google Docs on my phone.
- Read the rest of the Han Solo trilogy. I've dedicated two decades to Star Wars EU and these books have been on my read list forever. I always was more interested in Han and Leia's kids and not Han before he met Leia and Luke. After listening to the first book, I got a taste for the other two and it's time to finally read them.
